epoxy primer ins;t pourus... when you spray it on it actually looks half shiny, more like a matt finish... most primers are completely flat with no shine... and feel rough.. epoxy actually feels exactly the same as a normal paint job, in all honosty, if you get a spray gun good enough to spray top coats... then you probably would have been better off taking it to a body shop to get it painted.... as in my opinion the minimum to spend on a good top coat spray gun is around $500, i have sprayed cars for aorund a couple hundred bucks for labor before.. if you take it to the body shop and have the primer on it already (make sure the bodywork has been done good and your happy with it, make sure all surfaces are clean and prepped properly, final sand all surfaces with about 180 grit sandpaper before you apply 2 coats of primer, , wait untill you can touch the paint between coats and it doesn;t stick to your fingersit will feel soft but smooth, apply the second coat at that time, then when the primer is fully cured after 24hours you can sand it with 400 grit then 600-800 grit before the top coat is applied... if your going to wait a while before it is painted don't sand it untill it's ready to go to the body shop, your local body shop will likely sell you the supplys you need and tell you which stuff to use doing what step
