2.8 vs. V8 mounts, cliff notes?

Postby ChevelleFan » Tue Jul 11, 2017 11:44 am

I know there's a sticky related to mounts, but is 40+ pages long, spanning 11 years. (first post from 2006!)

My Blazer has what appear to be the 'hated' 2.8 mounts. They work. I put 3-5K miles on it with them. I bought my truck with the swap already performed.

But my engine is out currently, so what would be gained by switching to the V8 mounts? My exhaust is the Advance Adapters "tube manifold", https://www.summitracing.com/parts/add-717053

I used to have those manifolds. They'll work with pretty much any mount.

Over time those mounts risk cracking and cause fitment issues for some people. They're just not a good design especially if you start running some power.
