I don't know but I don't think so.. I think the guy I was talking about above in that thread got them.. don't remember now.. anyway ric will know.. I know this.. the difference isn't much between them.. but 1/4 in makes a world of difference in how these things fit cause its already tight in there. There is a guy here In my town with the "recommened" ones.. his is tight too.. but doesn't have all the issues I do. Its not easy but for example.. he can get his distributor cap off.. he can get his starter out.. etc etc. I think I sit only 1/2 higher and 1/4 or so back further but it makes a big difference. Ric will know.. I think the ones on the thread help the engine sit a little lower and a little more forward or something.

Ask ric

You want the 4689 mount adapters, they will also work with a 700R4, TH400, TH350, T-5 5 speed, and probably the NV 3500 as well. The only problem with the manual transmissions is gonna be the clutch release system. Way back in the day, I fabricated a mechanical system, just like the 1st Gen Camaros and 2nd Gen Novas had, with the Z-bar. To me, the very best option is a hydraulic throwout bearing setup, either a transplanted factory system, or aftermarket. The aftermarket stuff is a bit pricey for what it is, but it's more user friendly and adaptable. 8)

Does anyone by chance have the part number for the half ton nv3500 flywheel? I was told to use one from a half ton instead of the 4.3 because they are ballanced wrong?

They (we) will need to know if it's for a 1 piece or 2 piece rear seal crank/motor, 8)

Ok so quick update. I found some solid mounts on craigslist that will work on my truck so i went and got them. Going today to pick up a tbi 350 with 127,000 miles on it but before i can install it I'm going to redo my front suspension and while I'm at it i'll go ahead and put on my frame mounts since i will have aaccess to the nuts holding them on. This way i don't have to cut a hole in the frame.I'm going to go ahead and run a stock 4.3/5.0 clutch and preasur plate and get the v8 flywheel like some people have recomended. I believe its all pretty straight forward for me now unless i run into a problem with the slave cylinder. I don't know why i would but someone said i may have problems so we will see.

I have a 1993 4.3 5 speed 4x4 that I'm attempting to put a v-8 in. I made the 4689 mounts. The drivers side will hit the steering shaft unless you cut the hell out of it. If your going to make the mounts, the dimensions that are given are wrong for the drivers side. Perfect for the passenger side. The passenger side has to have one of the ears with a mount bolt hole cut off to clear the frame. It's almost impossible to get to the nuts to take nuts off the frame mounts; even with cutting a hole. Plan on taking the front diff out. Oh yeah, plan on taking the transmission and transfer case off. There isn't enough room to pull the motor straight up ( like with an automatic 4x4) because the clutch and pressure plate will not disengage from the transmission because the engine can not go fwd enough because of the oil pan/front diff clearance. Also, do not weld these mount adapts to the frame. It looks like you'll never get the front diff mount bolts out. The mounts I'm using are solid mounts. They are equivalent to Moroso # 62500 and 62630. the height of these mounts plus the 1/2 plate is the same size height as the 4.3 mounts. Which should put the engine in exactly the same spot as the 4.3. Not so. Can't get the engine to mount to the frame. So now that I hijacked your thread, I'll ask this; What adapters, with what motor mounts, will work the best for a 1993 4x4 extended cab s-10? Not a 4689.

I have no clue man. I'm new to all this. Mine is a 2 wheel drive and i know its a little easier than the 4x4.

I was wondering why my 4.3 had 2 water temperature sensors and two oil pressure sensors on it. Do i need to run them both?

One for the gauge and the other might be warning light or like the oil pressure it could be a switch for starting.

Quick update. I'm waiting on some diffrent frame mounts and my clutch kit to come in. Other than that i just have to buy a couple gaskets and new spark plugs and I'm ready to drop the motor in.

Nor sure about 1st gens, but 2nd gens used two temp sensors...one for the gauge...one for the ecm. Oil pressure...no clue.

Ok so another quick update, i dropped my 350 in to the truck and it runs and drives great but my driver side camaro manifold comes down very close to the frame cross member and i don't think it will work because it dosnt have enough room to connect the pipe. I was wondering if it would be ok to use a camaro manifold on the passenger side and a late 80's chevy 1/2 ton manifold on the drivers side. The 1/2 ton manifold looks like it will fit perfectly where i need it to fit... again its a stock 87 TBI 350...Thanks for all the help guys.

I would use whatever works with your build. The flow difference should not really matter.
I was trying to match a set of exhaust manifolds for my truck but every one of them that fit perfect covered my drivers side dipstick.
Passenger side dipstick engines are ideal for these trucks when using stock exhaust manifolds.

Ya i have a passenger dip stick it works fine where it is. I'm gonna go ahead and put the 1/2 ton manifold on it. The exhaust guy will sure be glad i did.

Another quick update. The camaro manifold is off and the half ton truck manifold is a very close fit. Its hitting on the stearing shaft so I'm going to have the flange ends machined down to pull the manifold closer to the block and hopefully clear the steering shaft. I may have to get the thinner jeep steering shaft but i believe just machining the manifold down will be good enough.
