15x4 DOT approved front tires

Postby lowblazin94 » Sat May 20, 2017 9:39 pm

Need something that is rated for speed and the weight of an aluminum head v8 in our trucks. Rim is 4in wide and running fenderwells so nothing too wide.

Options? Might go to a wider wheel for the street but lose more turning radius.

Current tires are I believe 195's but are rated for 1250lb each.

My main concern is handling speed. With these tires I keep it below 70mph

I'm gonna need more than 112mph but I assume short bursts over that is ok.

I would like to see your headers and exhaust system. I am just starting installing my fender well headers. My front tires are Thompson front runners 4 " wide 8 ply

Older pictures so ignore the wiring etc. I can get more pictures if needed. Headers are handmade

Thanks for the exhaust pic. That is how I am going to do mine. I think I am going to have get rid of my drop spindles to get some room for the tires. the collectors on my header come down more than yours. Nice job

I doubt that will help, might even make it worse.

Thanks for the info on the header job. I can see that I will have to shorten mine also. I think all of the work to make these fit will be worth it in the end and you guys are making easier for me. I just getting a good start on my because I am still working on the backhalf.
