16" upgrade questions

Postby uhlhazard » Tue Dec 15, 2015 8:44 pm

What I've got: I'm currently rocking some 31x10.50x15 bfg all terrains on stock 4x4 s10 wheels. The tires are bout 1/2 inch too wide inboard and at full lock going forward rub the frame (but not in reverse strangely) I can also rub the rims on the upper control arms. (2.5" lift kit gives these stupid tubular control arms that interfere)

What I've tried: I'm thinking of going to a more common tires size like 245/70/16 which I believe is just smaller than 31" and gives me a larger rim as an excuse to upgrade my rotor's size. I had a 95 camaro 16" wheel mounted with a 265/75/16 off of my wifes tahoe but the rim was too wide in both directions and the tire rubbed everything.

The purpose of this post: Does anyone know of some aluminum junkyard rims (eg cheap) I can find that would bolt on? I've read that stock sy/ty rims are 16" but I'm sure owners are super proud of them as I've never found them. I don't give a heck about finish, I'm just gonna spray paint them black.

Any ideas?

What's the bolt pattern of your current wheels? 5 x 4.75? I think there are some Toyota wheels that might work? (Or maybe I'm getting that confused with 6-lug GM wheels)
