need to know what size back space for the jeg sport star wheel on a ford 8.8 underneath a 96 S10

Can't help you with the specifics on your question, but this link might help:

Find the 10" width down the left column, then read across to see the various mm offsets converted to backspacing in inches. If I were to guess, I'd say you'd need a positive offset, in order to decrease the backspacing, and give the wheel a deep-dish look, which will push it away from the mounting hub and out towards the fender. I'd say you're looking at anywhere from 6"-7" backspace, which translates to offsets of +12mm to +38mm.
