2wd S10 Wheel and Tire Fitment Spreadsheet

I spent a decent amount of time putting together a spreadsheet of how different wheel and tire combinations would fit on a 2wd S10, and I thought others here might find it useful. It allows users to accommodate different backspacing / diameter wheels, different tires, axle width changes due to spacers / 8.8 swaps, etc., and tells you how much space you require when compared to either a stock 97 2wd truck with 5 spoke wheels or a 99 2wd ZQ8 truck with stock wheels.

A lot of the data here is from NORCAL SS on S10Forum. I give him the credit for his inputs. I've just provided extra columns of data to show how far in/out these combos are when compared to a known baseline.

As always, use this data at your own risk, and measure your own truck before you spend any money on parts. I'm just trying to help fellow members make informed decisions.

If you've got comments / suggestions / would like me to edit the file to have your particular combo put in, you can either comment on this post or send me a PM.

I looked at the spread sheet and I don't see the settings for my truck. I have an 84 S10 with 2in dropped spindles with shocks on the front, and 3in blocks and shocks on the rear. There are currently 14's on the truck but want to upgrade to a 15. There is going to be some serious power in the truck and I am going to need the traction. What would you recommend?

10"s is about as wide as you can go without some sheetmetal and frame work, and even then, backspacing has to be right. 8)

personally I would spend less on the tires and more on setting up the suspension. get some split mono leafs from calvert racing so you can ditch the blocks (Bad for traction), put some caltrac bars on it or slide a links, and go with a 275 60 15 tire. these trucks really don't need the steamroller tires to hook if you have the right spring and traction bar setup.

I picked up a Chris Alston 4-link and need to get some coil overs for it. Would I be able to use this with my current set up or do you still recommend the caltrac bars. This truck will be putting out upwards of 600 hp off the motor.

I would think so. It shouldn't make the rear end any wider.

Thank you Sleeper! The spreadsheet regarding the different wheel and tire combinations for 2wc S10 is really helpful. I was able check the different backspacing of my wheels, tires and axle width changes due to spacers. I’ll be checking out NORCAL SS on S10 Forum.

I'm having a difficult time understanding the spreadsheet for some reason. 87 Blazer with stock S10 width Ford 9", 2000 S10 discs. I'm planning on doing the Camaro disc swap up front, which looks like my Draglites won't fit. Now I'm thinking of going to a 17 inch wheel, probably 7 inch in front. I first thought 8 inches was about the max out back, but the spreadsheet leads me to believe 10 inches may be possible. My drop will most likely be 4 inch front, 4-5 rear. I'm open to suggestions on the drop, and in real need of wheel/tire size recommendations. Thanks to all in advance.

Does anyone have a reference sheet for a first gen s10? I'm looking at putting some new shoes on a 85' with a 2/3 drop. Been looking at corvette wheels but I'm afraid the front might be too wide.
