Need help with tire and rim sizes

Postby buzzbait » Thu Jan 04, 2018 7:21 am

First post to this forum...I have an 86 S10 Blzr 2wd. I have been working on it for about 8 years. Front is lowered 2" back is lowered 3"...rear has Caltrac single leaf and traction bars w/stock rearend and disc brakes. I have read a lot of posts and still am confused about wheels and tire fitment...am wanting something like 20" rims on back and 18" on front...will this work? What width will work? What are my tire size options? Blzr strictly for street use.

What are you intended uses for the blazer?

You can do the 18's and 20's but you will need some low profile tires that will make the traction suffer in the rear.

I have 17's on the front of mine but the rims are only 4.5" wide.

How wide do you want the wheels and tires to be?

Just street cruising. Maybe going to a few local car shows. Width somewhere around 8's in back and 7's up front. I am not firm on sizes but would like to at least fill fender wells. Will accept low profile tires but not real low. Am willing to give and take on both wheels and tires. Right now cab and body parts are at paint shop doing body off restoration with no cutting or welding.
