83 4x4 Front Suspension Rebuild

My Front end is in need of rebuild. Is it easier to just buy new control arms then put them in, or just do the bushings (I have access to a press). Also, I have never dealt with torsion bars before, any tricks on unloading them safely to remove lower control arm? My plan is to buy all the parts and do it all at once, ball joints, tie rods, bushings, everything up front.

Also, I need to replace the back leaf springs, one has a broken leaf. How often do the bushings go bad on those? And will 2nd gen leafs swap right in? What about 2wd's?

If it was Mine it would get Dana 44s front & rear instead of rebuilding the weak IFS front suspension that needs Balljoints every 6mos if Ya wheel the thing any!!! Depending on how well Ya shop & the deals Ya get You may come out Cheaper goin SAS than rebuilding the whole front suspension!!! I love My SAS Ext Cab & doin a Crew Cab now :)
