I don't know what to expect out of it. I know it would probably like a 4.10 or 3.89 rear gear but this is going to be driven on the street fairly regularly and I didn't want to go too high without an overdrive. Maybe close to 500hp is what I was aiming for power wise but E/T I don't know. Do you think this'll get me close to 500hp and maybe a low 12 1/4 mile?

Yes to the power number, (I'd say somewhere between 450 and 500), and if you can get it to hook, then yes to both. :thumbup:

My motor makes about 430 hp, and has been 12.24 @ 109, on regular street radials and 7-11 pump gas, :thumbup:

Some better flowing aluminum heads will get you close the 10's and let that thing breathe better. Good heads for now, but some 215s will take advantage of the upper RPM range.

I want to throw my projected combo up on here to see what it would do, or if there are any recommended changes since now would be the perfect time to plan it out since the truck isn't built yet. It will be 99% street truck but I'd like to sneak it on down to the track someday.

Generation: 1st Gen, 1991 S10 single cab, shortbed, 2WD W/T
Motor Size: 406ci SBC, with 5.7" crank and rods
Juice: None, all motor
Timing Curve (initial and total): Probably around 10* initial, 32* total
Compression: 9.5-10.0:1
Air Induction: Open element air filter
Air Conditioned: No
Carburetor: 650 or 750 Holley
Intake: Weiand Vortec Carb Conversion intake
Heads: Stock GM 5.7L Vortec with springs
Head Extras, (if you have flow specs, or a link to flow specs, that would be great, heads can make as much as a 50~75 hp difference, :wink: ):
Camshaft (specs or cam card link please): Nothing chosen yet, but considering something around a .480"/.480".
Cam Retard/Advance:
Headers: Hedmann S10 Long tube
Exhaust: 2.5" duals with Race Bullet mufflers
Transmission: TH350
Converter Stall Speed: Haven't chosen yet. Probably nothing radical since it'll see 99% street.
Tranny Extras: Hardened internals/typical beef up parts, shift kit
Rear Gears: Likely 3.73:1
Posi, spool, or open diff: Posi
Tires/Slicks: Probably 27" street/drag tires
Traction Adders: Slapper bars or Caltracs. Or will be doing whatever necessary to hold traction.
Weight: Unknown, but it's a base model truck. 195# driver.
