I'm in the process myself so i really cant give answers yet but i left the ECM attached for now. I will say, I'm not planning to use it. I went from 2.8 to carbed 350. I will put in mechanical/aftermarket OIL, Water Temp, Tach, Ammeter gauges. I used a 700r4 from a 4.3 S10 to replace the stock 5sp and aquired all the plugs/connectors with it so that the speedometer will work, hopefully!! LOL As for shifting it, the Throttle valve cable is supposed to handle that from what i'm told.

I mainly replied to say Good luck, don't think it happens overnight/or a few weekends (like i did), and ask all your questions here of Rickracer or Lowblazin, theyve helped me a bunch. They seem to have heard/know of all the "ins & outs" of swap that i encountered.
My 1st car was 69 camaro SS/350

Get very familiar with the wiring diagrams is the best advice I can give. Make your own diagrams, know where to run your grounds and what wires you WILL need first then eliminate from there.
