Hi all. I have a early Vortex intake manifold,the hole for the distributor is about a 1 1/2 inch circle my hei disributer. is for a 1 1/4 hole. who sells a bushing so I can use a late model HEI dist. I don't want to use a early HEI dist. How would you solve this problem, Rick Racer Thanks, Tom

Have you put the distributor all the way in? The distributor is smaller but it gets larger towards the top and fits as it should.

If you can post pics that will help. You might not have an SBC distributor then.

Yeah, there are no "bigger" or "smaller" diameter Chevy distributors as far as the part that sits in the intake manifold, they are all the same size, so you got something odd going on there.... :? :?

Hi all, There are two size dist. shafts, TBI 305 or 350, 1991to 1993 Caprice, Buick Roadmasterand Cadillac Fleetwood all of the same year .all other TBI are smaller shaft. Slight change in size is a EPA emission requirment to seperate cars and truck engine's. Thanks all that replied. Tom :D
