What alt. 10si 12si or cs130

Postby J-BYRD » Tue Jun 28, 2016 7:24 pm

Was looking for opinions on which alt to use. I have a cs130!on it now but it's not the right mounting position, made brackets to hold it for time being. I've heard mixed emotions about the cs130 and my engine had a 10si on it when I got it but it was junk. Just trying to figure what would be the best one to use.

Can't be as simple as reclocking the cs130?

I wish it were, it doesn't have the right mounting position. My brackets on my engine are the old v-belt setup . The alt. mounts on passengers side in front of the head just above the water pump inlet. The alt. for the brackets has the mounting tabs 180 degrees apart . The cs130 on it now has the bottom mount at say 6 o'clock and the top tab is at around 2 o'clock. Need to find a cs130 that has 180 degree mounting I guess not sure what they would have come on though. Anyone with any suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.

Check your local starter and alternator shop, they should be able to hook you up pretty quickly. 8)
