Distributor Recommendations, TBI Swap

Postby jester8798 » Thu Sep 28, 2017 5:56 pm

Hey all,

I'm getting closer to finishing up my 2.8L to 350 TBI swap but I'm now realizing the distributor I have for the 2.8L doesn't fit, the shaft is too short. I would have used the distributor from the 350 but the connections are different from my original harness. Can I just adapt the connectors or is there another version distributor that will work?

This is the one I have

This is the one that was on the 350

Thanks!

You can adapt the connector but the PCM needs to be for a V8

I snagged a computer for a mid 90s V8 equipped truck that I was going to use. So the connectors are just plug and play?

Theyre plug and play if its a TBI from the same year and a 4.3 truck.

Being a 2.8 and you are using a mid 90's TBI then you might need to add some sensors. What year is the truck you are putting it in to?

My truck is an 87. The distributor on the 350 is from a 91 Suburban.
