Please don't burn me at the stake for this one. But I found this video one of the racing sites I used to go to when I was out west. You guys need to see this. Perfect example of not sizing your turbo. http://www.bullseyepower.com/95mmsupra.wmv

Probably makes a fairly good race car. Note the Weld Magnum front wheels/MT Drag front tires. Not to mention it was using a Powerglide trans, I'd say, if they spool it on the t'brake, it'd be a good contender for that NOPI crap. Or some other import racing sanctioning body.

That looks like it would be a good candidate for about a 150 shot of nitrous, controlled by a hobbs switch set to turn it off at about 10~15 psi of boost.  8)

looks like ur typical supra guy buildin a highway racer. or someone launchin off a transbrake at a drag strip. I dunno if its true, but I hear those engines can handle somethin like 1000 horsepower b4 u do any internal mods...

Not true, at least not if they are expected to stay together. At above around 600 hp, they start needing some help to stay together. My buddy/machinist does them all the time, in fact he has several customers currently holding records. 8)

I have a customer that has an IS300 thats daily driven and has the 1jz (same engine as the n/a supra). All thats done to the engine is ARP head stud kit and a t78 turbo kit and he makes around 800hp to the wheels and has held together for a couple years now.

theres dsm guys out there sayign there hitting 54psi and all that stuff. if they realized if they put 25psi through a big block it would rip that car in half.

How much boost though? And I bet he doesn't thrash on it all the time, I guess there are a FEW smart ricers out there, 8)

Idk what that is I get a broken link, but evidently its something with a 95mm turbo, which just doesnt seem big to me anymore, at the strip I always see a car with twin 88's and another with a single 101...

look at THIS thing... A Procharger feeding twin turbos in what I think is a trailblazer straight 6 engine...

I posted that link over two years ago, LOL. Here is another link to the same video.

But this is my all time favorite promod. He used to bring this car to Wichita International when I was stationed in Kansas. in the pic it was a 331 sbc with a 110mm single.
