89 S-10 new picts 1/17

Postby prostreet94s10 » Tue Feb 10, 2009 8:26 pm

I just picked this up on Monday for $400.00. It is a 1989 with a 2.5 and a 5 speed. (well for a few more days) I am going to borrow all my good parts from my other truck I'm slowly not building. I wanted one to play with this summer and my 94 needs way to much for my bank account to handle at this time. The only thing I will have to get is a radiator and maybe a drive shaft if I cant use the one it the truck. The camper is going to be the first thing to go! The only body work it needs is the pass side cab corner and there is 2 dents in the drivers door. But it will run before I worry about the body. I will get up more pictures once I get started.

I thought so to. It is in good shape for a 89. I will trade you the camper shell for your Pro Stars and tires but I think you will owe me a few bucks too.  8)

Just cover up the window holes with fiberglass. It is not that hard to work with and they are flat. I'd pull those winders out and that is what I would do. You could probably even get a flat piece of fiberglass to patch in there.

I finaly got started today. My 9 year old son and I pulled the motor and transmission. We also started to pull the inner fenders out (he said it would look better and make it go faster so I went with it). This will be his truck some day so he gets final say in all of it. I think it is cool he is finaly getting into the racing and horsepower side of things. I have been trying to get him into it for a while.

I got out to shop yesterday and got a few things done. I could not get the motor in it because FedEx bumped my delivery date back until Monday. So I mounted my switch panel, wire brushed the frame, got rid of a lot of wires not needed any more, and put my motor back together. I did not have the camera with me yesterday but I will run out today and take some picts and get them posted.

I had a 69 Cutlass Bill, that was a great car, traded it for a 67 Chevy pickup cuz I needed a truck, missed it ever since. :( 8)
