4L60E question

I have a 95 s10 4.3 4l60e , I’m doing a v8 swap. What is the difference in the v6 and v8 transmission if any? Thanks

Mainly internal strength. Clutches etc. It will still hold a V8 but once you start throwing power and traction at it then you will start finding its limits.

Are the v6 and v8 converters the same I need a stall

I believe stock for the V6 is 2400. Stall depends on the motor set up and rear gearing and tire size.

Whats your motor combo?

10 1/2 to 1 flat top 350 ,041 heads ,280 Comp cam, 2400 would work fine.

Performer rpm air gap intake, 275/60-15 and I’m not sure on the gear now but I’m going to go 3.73 or 4.11. I’m In the process of building the truck. Just trying to get all my ducks in a row

For the compression you will want a bigger stall. If you go 4.11 you could probably get away with it since 1st gear is so short

Something around a 2800 stall with lock up will give you room for upgrades and will avoid it being an absolute dog on the street

Stock stall can be 12-1400(g,h,k) 1611-1654(e,f,l) 2000(b,c) The second digit on the converter tag.
94 longbed, 350+.060(360) 9.5:1, 488/510-234/244 cam, 4l60e 2500 stall shift kit vette servo, 7.625 rear 3.42 gears mini spool

I'm running a JW 2800 stall lockup, and it's PERFECT for my combo, allows 12.20s on street tires, all motor, and 7-11 pump gas, and still tows my race car to the track in air conditioned comfort. :thumbup: :thumbup:
