I'm new to the forum an have had 4 v8 s10 an had great luck with them I'm a budget builder extremest my last s10 was a stock 350 home ported an polishes vortec stock cam air gap intake an 650 double pumper went 8.20 in 1/8 on motor an 7.60 on a crap compucar none adjustable plate kit 100 shot my question is I am thinking of building another stock bottom end 350 vortec heads air gap an 650 but using a lunati 60103 cam 373 gears 3000 stall long tubes just wondering if anybody ever ran that cam with vortecs I no it real high lift for vortec s

Look at the combo in my sig, just what you're looking for, :thumbup: Does 12.20s on motor and with my everyday street tires, tows my race car in air conditioned comfort, and can get about 18+ mpg if I keep my foot out of it, which I NEVER do, :mrgreen:
Same intake, same gear, nearly the same converter, little better carb, different cam.

One quick tip for Vortec heads is that there are kits available with high clearance retainers (and also beehive springs kits) that give you room to run extra lift for the cam without having to machine them for clearance.

I had mine prepped for a .525" lift solid roller...then wiped two lobes out, tore up two cylinder walls, bored it .080 over, and went hydraulic roller. 8)
And I can HIGHLY recommend this particular camshaft for this type of combo, :thumbup: :thumbup:

I've heard you can you ls springs as a quick cheap upgrade will the retainers give you any more lift

The reason I picked that cam is it pulles at the same as the air gap
